What is The True Meaning of Success For You Big Money? Power? Or the Simple Things in Life?
Have you wondered about this question - What is the true meaning of success? It's something I've given a lot of thought to because it's part of the concept of this site!
The following words from George Allen....
Success is what you do with the ability that you have, how you use your talent. It doesn't necessarily mean any one thing.
And Margaret Mead....
I must admit that I personally measure success in terms of the contributions an individual makes to her or his fellow human beings.
....sum up my personal thoughts about success.
Success Defined - A Personal View
By being open to the idea that a success can be defined as "an achievement we are proud of" then everyday we are successful several times over. How motivating is that? What does it do for your self esteem? It sends it rocketing sky high and so the cycle of becoming more successful begins.
The pressure to be a 'successful person' can be very stressful and counterproductive. But if we acknowledge our more modest or smaller achievements as "successes" we can be really motivated, and so can others around us.
Perhaps I've got an overly optimistic idea of the 'true meaning of success'. Maybe, but if you are going to be successful at anything - big or small, then it won't happen by chance! Success has to be planned and that requires a good helping of organization.
Success in Your Life
Do you feel that you want to get more out of life, you want to move forward and make changes in your life, but something is holding you back? Is the true meaning of success still a mystery to you? Sometimes we need someone to help us, a mentor, teacher or coach.
Engaging the help of a professional life coach might be just what you need to set the wheels in motion. Or a more economical option is motivational books that have become classics, such as Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway by Susan Jeffers or The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle are some suggestions for you.
“All of life is a journey, which paths we take, what we look back on, and what we look forward to is up to us. We determine our destination, what kind of road we will take to get there, and how happy we are when we get there.”
