Take stock of my life

by Carol M.
(Edwards)

I have a hard time seeing the successes in my life I think because I don't see myself as a successful person. My view tends to be negative which colors what I see in myself. So to keep myself from forgetting my successes I count my blessings everyday. Yes I follow the old rule.

Of course family is so important and I am raising wonderful children. I work hard to be a good mom everyday and raise caring and responsible children. It is hard work but I consider this one of my successes. In addition, I have filled myself with knowledge with 2 Master's degrees and a lifetime of learning. Lastly, I do not work to live a luxurious life and am comfortable with the simple things which has allowed me to be flexible in my life.

So at the end of the day I say "Woo hoo!" for me and keep my focus on how successful I really am.

Valuing the simple things in life
by: Anonymous

I love that you say you are comfortable with the simple things. I think that is a real measure of success in today's "want, want, want" society.

I believe that we can be happy if our expectations are realistic and we are content with what we have.

Well done to you.
