Learn To Listen - Learning How to Heal
Learning How to Heal:
Modern medicine gives the notion of something to battle. Battle the germs and fight to cling to life. As soon as an individual feels any type of pain, they look for ways to soothe their discomfort rather than learn to listen!.
People feel that, if they are diagnosed with something, however great or small, that they must change the diagnosis somehow, such as overpower it with knowledge. This notion leads us to battle everything that comes our way.
After we succeed at overcoming one obstacle, there is always another waiting for us somewhere around the bend. This is a form of endless insecurity, in which one will never obtain peace of mind.
People as a race must learn how to overcome this state of living in constant fear. When we learn to heal from within, we will experience a great inner peace. First, though, we must learn to listen & look at life's obstacles much differently.
We are often taught to pay attention to everything that comes our way, as if we were experiencing life without actually being in the moment. When we learn to live in the moment, our perception will change and it will be easier to deal with life's ups and downs.
Learning from our Pain:
It is no secret that every human being has a great deal of malevolence to pain; an aversion to it; however, pain is not that bad. In fact, pain occurs to tell us when something is wrong, or in imbalance. Pain is a message that we must listen to. By listening to the message that our pain is delivering, we are able to begin the healing process.
The first step in beginning to heal is to learn to listen & see pain as our ally, rather than our enemy. We must learn how to have a dialogue with our pain, which to most people seems an oxymoron. This involves a complete turnaround in our ways of thinking regarding pain.
Instead of putting on our armor and preparing for battle, we need instead to understand that pain brings with it a lesson that is meant to be learned. When we are able to do so, we realize that pain often comes bearing gifts.
When we are feeling at our worst, this is when we often become ill. In other words, when we feel defeated, we give up, and this is when illness can set in, mostly because we are overly exhausted from some aspect of our life.
Becoming ill is the only reason that many people give themselves an excuse to take a day off from work, or just to stop and rest, or to make changes in their lives. Just as with physical illness, mental illness often has the same effect on a person. It grows stronger and stronger until a person simply cannot ignore it any longer.
Pain is meant to be a messenger. Usually once a person realizes what is causing pain, the pain subsides. For a full, all-around healing to take place, however, it is often necessary to make complete life changes.
Cancer as an example can go into remission for many years and one day simply show up again. This gives rise to reason to examine how we live our lives and what we can change to better our lives overall.
Learn to Listen:
If we can learn to listen to our bodies, we can better understand what we may be doing, or not doing, that could be the cause. By making changes, we can learn to heal by learning to listen.
