Whenever one is looking to buy an essential oil to apply on the skin or to treat some skin condition, it is important to buy the suitable carrier oil for the essential oil. The main purpose of buying these oils along with the essential oils is because it acts as a carrier or a vehicle to apply the essential oil on the skin. These are not essential oils and are derived from the nuts and the seeds of avocado, cabinet, jojoba, almond, etc. They do not have any particular fragrance of her own. How are carrier oils getting?
The main process of getting the carrier oil out of the seeds and the nuts of plants is through cold pressing method. The seeds and the nuts are placed in a horizontal press, which has a rotating screw. The oil is squeezed out of the nuts and seeds using the screw called as the expeller. This oil is then filtered and finally sold as an oil product in the market. There are plenty of stores in Singapore that sell the cold pressed or the purest form of the carrier oil.
Why are they called carrier oils?
The carrier oil has to be always used in the essential oils to dilute the oil. The essential oils cannot be directly applied onto the skin as they might cause skin friction. The carrier acts as an agent to reduce the skin friction when applying the essential oils on the skin. They are needed to carry the essential oils into the body while massaging. They will make the essential oils and light non-sticky and also prevent the oil from getting evaporated very soon. These oils are the facilitators to take the generally regarded as safe essential oils internally.
